It’s that time of year again folks, the Annual Co-ed Volleyball Tournament in Support of the Alzheimer's society. This year marks the 5th year of the tournament and we hope to make it the best one yet. As always the funds raised from the event will go towards furthering research and supporting the Alzheimer's Society as they strive to find better ways to adapt and cope with Alzheimer's disease and to hopefully one day find a cure.
The tournament is a 6-on-6 volleyball format with at least 2 of each gender required on the court at all times for the recreational division. The competitive division will be 4-on-4 volleyball with back row hitting for men and at least one of each gender on the court at a time. As in previous years, the tournament is volunteer-based officiating, with the playing teams having to provide a referee for the next game.
This year we will be trying to have separate recreational and competitive levels to allow for everyone to come out to play and support this great cause.
Teams are asked to sign up on the 'Anything for Alzheimer's' page and searching for the team event "5th Annual Coed Volleyball Tournament", to raise funds to support their team and the Alzheimer' Society. Please also post to this event page, or message 'Dustin Bouwmeester' or 'Corey Lewis' on Facebook, to inform us of your interest in entering a team. Team fees will be done on a donation basis in which we ask that each team donate a team fee of $120 to help us reach our fundraising goals, with additional funds greatly apreciated.
The tentative date will be Saturday, May 25th from roughly 8am to 7pm. The exact schedule will depend on the number of teams present.
Further details will be posted to this Facebook event page, so please follow the page to keep updated.
